Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern the use of the I'm Alive app (the "App", "Service"). By installing and using the App, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.

1. Purpose of the Service

I'm Alive is a wellness check-in service. You check in daily in the App with one tap. If a check-in is not received within the period you set, the Service notifies your designated trusted contacts by email so they can check whether everything is OK.

Important: The Service is an auxiliary tool and does not replace emergency response services, medical care or professional care. Do not rely on I'm Alive as the only safeguard in life- or health-threatening situations.

2. Account

• using the Service requires sign-in via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In;
• you are responsible for keeping access to your authorization account safe and for actions taken under your account;
• you confirm that the information provided during registration is accurate.

3. User obligations

By using the Service, you undertake to:

• provide correct email addresses of contacts and obtain their consent to receive notifications about your wellbeing;
• keep your settings up to date yourself: the control period, reminder times and the list of contacts;
• not use the Service to send unwanted messages, deceive or disturb third parties;
• not attempt to disrupt the Service, gain unauthorized access to it or to other users' data.

4. How notifications work

Timely delivery of reminders and notifications depends on factors beyond our full control: internet connectivity, power-saving and background-process settings on your device, notification permissions, and the operation of third-party delivery services (push and email). We make reasonable efforts for reliable delivery, but do not guarantee that every notification will be delivered instantly or without failures.

5. Availability and changes to the Service

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service or its individual features, including for maintenance and updates.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and its developers are not liable for indirect damages, nor for consequences caused by non-delivery, delayed delivery or false triggering of notifications, nor for the acts or omissions of contacts. You use the Service at your own risk, understanding its auxiliary nature (see section 1).

7. Privacy

The processing of your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is an integral part of these Terms.

8. Termination of use

You may stop using the Service at any time by signing out or deleting the App. You may also request deletion of your account and related data (see the Privacy Policy).

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. The current version is always available on this page; the date of the latest revision is shown at the top. By continuing to use the Service after changes, you accept the updated Terms.
